08 Jan Winter News Letter 2017
“As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”
Our family has a tradition of prayerfully choosing a word that we believe will capture the year to come. This year we felt the Lord speaking “abide” over us this year. We are excited to continue to seek Jesus in deeper ways and walk in what he is calling us into. We have already seen so much fruit in this past months from listening to his voice in small day to day things, to the big moments. Our hope is to be a faithful people in order to advance his Kingdom.
A few main focus’ for this year as well as how you can be praying for each goal:
Meaningful Relationships – We are intentionally focusing on the cultivation of strong relationships in Seattle. Through sports leagues, coffeeshop encounters, MOPS, friends over for dinner, groups and much more. Pray for deep relationships as well as the expanding of the width of our relational networks in the city.
Group Multiplication – Our goal is to start and multiply groups as we build from the ground up. This will start with the first on-going group at our home and the development of group leaders who will be sent out to start groups. Each group will be around the rhythms of study, socialize and serve. Pray for our first group to grow and for leaders to be developed and sent out throughout the city.
Social Launch – Keep your eyes out for the launch of all of our media and website stuff over the next year! Pray for biblically strong, culturally relevant communications that will effectively communicate about this new work in the city.
Family Expansion – Our newest little one is on the way as Hilary is 13 weeks pregnant! Ephraim will have his 1st birthday in March and our family will grow by one more little one in August. We are so blessed by these little munchkins! Pray for Hilary’s health, Ephraim’s continued growth and our little one in the womb.
Continue Teaching Ministry – Trevor will continue to speak 1-2 times a month at Sola Church this year. We both have the opportunity to speak at YWAM LA Compassion DTS this March on missiology and justice. Hilary is excited to jump back into the game after feeling more grounded as a mom and hoping that morning sickness will end by that time too. Pray for the Spirit to move in power through the people we communicate too over the next year.
A Big Thank You!
We are so thankful for our partnerships with our handful of individual donors, countless people who have prayed for us, our sending mother church – Cascade Community Church in Monroe, our local network – the North Sound Network, Converge Northwest and serving at a church plant to gain experiences – Sola Bothell. We have been sent, shaped, encouraged and cheered on in the mission by these pillars. We wouldn’t be able to go forward in Seattle without the countless support of these people and want to thank you for all you have done for us. We often still can’t believe we are in Seattle and get the opportunity to serve here. We truly believe that this year is going to be powerful and we are excited to partner with Jesus in his mission. Thank you for believing in us and being part of the story unfolding this year here.
